Juliet Balcony FAQs

What is a Juliet Balcony

A Juliet balcony is a narrow balcony or a railing which sits just outside a window or French doors on the upper storey of a building.

Do I Need Building Regs For A Juliet Balcony?

Generally, if the balcony is to sit more then 3 metres above the ground, then you are likely to need planning permission. In certain circumstances, planning permission may be waived, but this can depend on the volume of extension work you have already carried out on the property.

Do I need Planning Permission for a Juliet Balcony?

More often than not the answer is no in vast majority of cases. Juliet balconies are classed as Permitted Developments and therefore will not need planning permission.

How do I measure for a Juliet Balcony?

When measuring up for a Juliet Balcony you should add 300mm to the width of the window or opening to ensure you order the correct size. We always advise that you discuss your Juliet Balcony project with our team before ordering.

How do you install a Juliet Balcony?

All of our Juliet balconies are easy to install. They are made to measure and come with comprehensive  instructions on installation.
