Othello Technical Details

Number of point fixings required

Our technical team can advise you on the number of point fixings that you require for each panel of glass and where those point fixings should be positioned. There follows a drawing setting out where we would advise the point fixings to be positioned on a 1.2m wide panel of glass. Your Juliet balcony should be at least 1.1m high. You should ensure that you have sufficient space beneath the balcony opening to secure the glass. We would recommend that this is at least 300mm.

Glass hole size

Our point fixings require a glass hole size of 22mm. Our point fixings are sold with an M10 thread. The length of the thread varies depending on the length of the backplate. Longer threads can be supplied on request.

Portia Technical Details

Each Portia Juliet balcony kit is sold with:

2 x left round fittings
2 x right round fittings
42mm grade 316 cap rail manufactured to your specification
1 x 6m gasket for 12mm toughened glass
12mm toughened glass manufactured to your specification

Tested on the basis that the metal insert in the frame is a minimum of 1.5mm in thickness. I attach a copy of the test report which is in German but which I think we can include anyway.   FIXING TO STEEL OR CONCRETE Skyforce is fully tested at a height of 1.1m up to a width of 3m when fixed to steel or concrete.
